Love is what is left when we're gone

In preparation for my move to Berlin, I closed my studio in Portland, Oregon in January 2023 with a final show. The only rule was: “If you respond to this piece and have a place to put it on your wall, it’s yours.” The show was co-curated by my son’s friends, who, with my direction, dug through everything in my studio and arranged it in a chaotic, adventurous way.The co-curation and generosity of this occasion marked my transition from solo studio work toward the more socially engaged art I relocated to Berlin to pursue.
